I have to say, you know, I already shared with our audience that you're my closest friend my favorite and what a pleasure

and delight to have you on the Let It the Easy Podcast speaking about a topic that we love.

Honey, honey. Now I've shared a bit about your background but Adam I would love for you to share just for you

you know firsthand a bit about your background how long you've been in the finance space and what drew it to you in the first place.

Mm.

All right. Well, you know, I've worked in media all my life, not always in personal finance media, but probably since the second half of my career, it's been personal finance.

You know, I was always attracted to words and storytelling.

So at first I thought I might be maybe a book editor or something more literary

and then sort of quickly fell into digital media right out of college.

And so I've worked at general places,

The Daily Beast, Newsweek, Wall Street Journal, just places at where I learned just the mechanics of digital storytelling and how to create audiences and how to craft stories and storytelling.

And then over the last few years I really specialized in money.

I was the editor-in-chief of Money magazine, and after that it became what I'm currently doing which is the editor-in-chief of Next

Advisor and that is the personal finance advice brand that is published under Time.com. And in that project, that project of Next

Advisor, which I've been doing for over a couple years now, like that really to me has been all about not just the mechanics of money and how it works

because it's for an audience of people who are at the beginning of their financial journey.

But it's really been about dissecting

how money is talked about

and trying to start new conversations of money and trying to change the face of money like who gets held up as an expert and who is a success story and who isn't and and you know like what is literally the face of

financial success and that's what really next advisor has been all about for me and what I love is that you're not a finance advisor, you're not a CPA,

C.A, that's not your skill set.
