Here is a simple truth about a layoff.

It is rarely about you. The HR manager who gives you that news will probably tell you it's a business decision and that person isn't wrong. We're at a difficult moment in the economy. I don't have to tell you that. You know that. Every indicator from jobs data to the stock market is

signaling that times are tough and they are growing tougher. We had more job cuts in March in this

country than we have had since May of 2020, the darkest, earliest days of the pandemic.
