Hello everyone Kirk here with a classic episode for you all as I begin

pre-production on the next season of Strong Songs.

This is an episode that I've recorded back in 2021,

which is further ago than it seems like it should be,

but I guess that's just time for you.

This episode is on Carol King's immortal song, You've Got a Friend, and I wanted to

bump it up because I've been thinking about this song a lot lately. I've also been thinking about

the album that it's on, Carol King's album Tappestry.

This album was in my parents vinyl collection which I inherited many years back when they realized

they didn't even own a record player anymore and someone should be listening to those records so they

gave them to me. I have a feeling that a lot of people inherited tapestry from

their moms in particular given how often I see copies of it at record shops and at used record expos.

Anyways, it is a beautiful song.

just to point you all to a band that you might not have listened to. Just a few weeks back I saw

Nickel Creek live in person for the first time in Bend, Oregon and wow, they are really

good live. Like I knew they were good. I heard live recordings of them.

I have almost all of their albums.
