When your child is facing an important decision, it's great to be able to ask them,

what do you think God thinks about this?

I'm John Fuller with Dr. Danny, he heads up our parenting team and Danny you've found that

question to be pretty effective. In fact, I stole it from you, so thank you.

Well, I think it's even deeper than that, the question, what would it be like to be experiencing this with God next to me?

How are we, if we're having a relational moment, since he's with me all the time,

what is this moment going to be like for the two of us?

And I like to think of that. If there's a question mark on whether this is going to be good or bad, I'll ask the question, well, if God and I were sitting here together hanging out, since we are hanging out together right now,

would this be the right moment?

What would that experience be like for both of us together?

Really, it's about trust.

It's about the potential for disconnection,

and it's really not going towards a place of shame

Am I establishing more trust but first of all do I trust that God is with me all the time?

And is this going to disconnect me from that relationship?

Which is an interesting thing, John, when we consume certain things when we step into

certain decisions it can begin to change us in a way we're not relational with other

people because it's really shifted our relationship with

God and that goes back to the shame and the isolation that Adam felt in the garden
