I automatically am in a better mood because it's time for fall. Well, at least in my head, it's time for fall.

Here in Los Angeles, we don't have seasons that change. I'm not seeing the colors of the leaves turning to orange, and that shit doesn't happen here.

The only way I know it's time for fall is one looking at my calendar, seeing that the pumpkin spiced lattes available at your local Starbucks, and also smelling burnt trees and burnt homes in the air.

Yeah, it's fire season here in LA, which is so sad that I'm like, oh, places are burning down.

Must be time for fall, but yeah, that's what happens here because it's so dry. But yeah, if I see a few palm trees on fire, a couple buildings, I'm like, yep, it's time to embrace the pumpkin spiced latte.

I've had friends come to visit and they're like, it smells like something's burning, something on fire, and they're very alarmed because I guess wherever they come from, whatever city they're living in that's not California, they're not used to things being on fire all the time.

But yeah, sadly, that is something that happens frequently here, like earthquakes. That's another thing about friends stay with me.

And earthquakes happen all the time. I'm used to them at this point. I don't even notice them, but if you are not used earthquakes and you've never experienced them or very rarely experienced them, then feeling one at night will definitely freak you out a bit.
