On Monday, the 3rd of November, MPs were in awe of the bravery of passengers and crew

following last Saturday's horrific knife attack on a train in Cambridgeshire.

Faced with a crisis or disaster, which of us knows if we'd be able to act with courage?

Well, some people find out at huge personal cost, like a member of the train crew on Saturday

evenings 1825 from Doncaster to London Kings Cross.

Who ran towards danger, confronting the attacker for a sustained period of time

and stopped his advance through the train.

He put himself in harm's way, suffered grievous injuries as a result

and remains in hospital today in a critical but stable condition.

The Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood also paid tribute to the bravery of passengers and the emergency responders.

The local MP for Huntingdon, where the train managed to stop so that police could board it,

is the conservative Ben

Opsie Jecti. He wanted to highlight some more heroic quick thinking.

The train driver, Andrew Johnson and signalling staff, whose speed of thoughts in moving the train

onto the suburban line from the high speed line meant that the train could make the unscheduled

stop at Huntington, a decision that curtailed the attack by several crucial minutes,

allowed the police to apprehend the suspect and undoubtedly saved lives.

Less heroic were those at home with access to the internet,

as described by the Lib Dem Max Wilkinson.
