This is CBS I on the World. I'm John Batscher with my colleagues, Hesanakhani, and Bill Rajo. Bill, quickly,

the pounding on the Houthis these last days, that looks like an air campaign underway. Now,

the puzzle is when you whack outfits and don't kill them, they get stronger.

That's been the lesson for the last decades. Is that happening with the Houthis?

So the pre, I would say previous efforts under the Biden administration failed because they were

intermittent. And they also didn't target Houthi leadership. There's indications that this campaign is sustained, at least ongoing for right now.

It's not a day of strikes is what we saw previously.

And it is indeed targeting military leadership.

There's been reports, for instance, that the commander of the Houthi's missile forces has been killed in one of these strikes.

They're going after command centers and others, and there's reports they're going after

with the leadership.

I haven't seen any reports that they've actually killed anyone of significance within the

Houthi's political leadership, but they have been targeting them.

So this is, that's what makes it different than the

previous strikes, whether there, I saw a report that a Trump officials did say that, you know,

this isn't going to continue indefinitely. So if they do want this campaign to have effect,

they need to take out more Houthi leaders, destroy the

stockpiles that the Houthis possess of the missiles and rockets and drones and every,

and destroy factories that are producing them and all the munitions that are going with them.

That's what we'll find out. It's too early to say whether this is going to be successful or not.

There is no plan B here. They're going for the complete obliteration of what looks to be right now.
