Are wolves out of the woods?

I'm Judy Muller, sitting in for Warren Allney, and this is To the Point from Public Radio International,

a daily look at the issues Americans care about most.

Her official name was 832F. But in Yellowstone National Park where she wore a GPS collar,

she was known as the rock star, wowing scientists and tourists alike with her size and strength.

Now this alpha female wolf is dead, shot and killed legally when she stepped outside

park boundaries. A total of eight wolves wearing GPS collards have been killed during this year's

hunting season. What's the loss to science? Later on to the point, the emotional debate about the

hunting and trapping of wolves. On reporter's notebook later on, a look at the legendary Ravi Shankar, the man who introduced

Indian music to much of the Western world. First, here's the news.
