your request. I would love to pray for you. Alright, we are looking at the life of the biblical character

Daniel and we are in the midst of a story where he has been accused of wrongdoing but it was

all this contrived sort of a situation to catch him in something that they could accuse him of

because his life at that point was blameless. They had nothing to accuse him with and yet these

jealous men are trying to trap him and get him out of their way in their own selfish ambition.

And so we pick up the story in Daniel chapter 6, verse number 10. This document has been

designed that states that no one in the kingdom can petition or pray to any God or person except

the king, Darius. And in verse 10 it says, when Daniel knew that the document had been signed by the

king, he went to his house where he had windows in his upper chamber to open toward Jerusalem.

He got down on his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before God as he had done

previously. So Daniel's habits of devotion to God did not change in spite of this injunction

that he should not pray to anyone. It goes on in verse 11, then these men came by agreement and

found Daniel making petition and plea before his God. Then they came near and said before the king

concerning the injunction, oh king, did you not sign an injunction that anyone who makes petition

to any God or man within 30 days, except you, oh king, shall we cast into the den of lions?
