My guest today was born in Yorkshire. She attended Gateway School for Girls and Leeds Girls High School before going on to study law and New New College Cambridge. After Cambridge, she became a barrister and was appointed a QC age 40.

However, she gave up her legal life for a political one. In 2015, she entered Parliament and has

since risen through the parliamentary ranks, holding a number of ministerial roles,

I would I think I had a very happy childhood.

My parents were really supportive.

So I've got two sisters.

I grew up in Leeds.

And they supported us whatever we wanted to do.

So, you know, I went to Cambridge.

I studied law, but both my sisters left school at 16.

One went to beauty school.

One went to drama school.
