2023 and I'm the host of the show Kara Santa Maria and this week we have an really interesting one for you. I have the opportunity

to chat with Dr. Lena Andrews. She is a military analyst for the Central Intelligence Agency, the CIA.

She earned her PhD in political science from MIT where she specialized in international relations

and security studies.

And she has spent more than a decade in foreign policy having previously worked at the Rand Corporation

and the United States Institute of Peace.

She has a new book out called Valiant Women, the Extraordinary American Service

Women who helped win World War II. Lots of exciting things that you probably didn't know. I definitely learned a lot in this one.

So we're going to be talking about your new book, Valiant Women, the Extraordinary American Service Women

who helped win World War II.

And whenever I talk to somebody who's done intensive reporting

and sort of written about history, written about something

that's already passed. I think it's important that we at least start by talking

about you, the person, you the writer, and what your interest

in this area was.
