What does God's word say about alcohol? This is a question that I am asked with some regularity in our world today.

Drinking, liquor has become acceptable in so many realms,

and I'm heartbroken to say this, even among the Lord's people,

who spend a lot of time trying to defend why they can drink something socially

and try to make the case from Scripture, I would say, without proper interpretation,

an application of why it is acceptable. I would say this to you.

You tell me five good things alcohol ever did for a marriage, for children, for a family,

Wine is still a mucker, strong drink is raging,

and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. So if you're a sincere follower of the Lord Jesus

Christ and you want to be all that God wants you to be, in the words of Paul, may I say,

be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess, but be filled with the spirit.

You shouldn't be under the control of anything but that which leads to holiness and friends.

Wine and strong drink never does that.
