I was reading a book this morning and it said,

no matter how much effort you exert or how intelligently you pursue the hunt,

you cannot catch any game that there is none in the field.

Now game means like animal when you're hunting.

Sometimes they call it game.

But I love this metaphor, you understand?

In reality, it's a simple truth.

One that carries a lot of, a lot of deep wisdom about life timing and energy.

Timing and energy.

Two beautiful resources that we have that we can also never get back.

We live in a world that obviously glorifies effort. Hustle culture tells us that if we just try

harder, wake up earlier, grind longer, and push relentlessly, we will eventually succeed.

And yes, effort does matter, 100%, but it's really like only one part of the equation.

Effort is like when we're sharpening our spear, training the body,

mastering the hunt. But what happens when you step into an empty field? What happens when the thing

that you were hunting for simply isn't there? Imagine that you're going to go out into the forest,

go hunting, but there's nothing there. It doesn't matter how good you're going to go out into the forest, go hunting, but there's nothing there.

It doesn't matter how good you are.

It doesn't matter how late you stay out, how hard you try.

No amount of discipline or strategy can make something appear in a place where it does not exist.

But yet, how often do we refuse to accept this? Some of us are overly exerting

ourselves for no reason. How many times do we chase opportunities, relationships, or dreams
