All right, so this is just a call out a framework, right, to improve your clarity.

0:53.3

In clarity period, again, in anything, right? It can be on, you know, what campaign am I going to roll out. This is the stuff that I ask myself. And it just puts me on the right path on, you know, what actions to take. Of course, we've got to take massive action, right? But we have to know what kind of action to take. We got to know what that looks like. The first thing I do is a mental mind up. This is a writing exercise. If you guys haven't done that, I highly, highly suggest that you do.

1:15.9

I always carry around a good old school notebook and pen with me everywhere I go. I'm all about tech,

1:22.5

apps, and, you know, all kinds of stuff, right? But there's something about pen to paper. It just forces you to slow down and get your thoughts in alignment, right? So if I have a question about, for example, the market, I just did this with, we opened up in Indianapolis. We launched a campaign in Indianapolis, what, three, four weeks ago, we're up to, I think, five deals on that market right now. And, you know, first thing I did is, okay, what's the mind dump, right? How can I get that clarity that I need for that market? So I started looking at cash buyer ratio. And it's just stuff that comes to mind. You don't necessarily have to be, you know, super organized about it. It's really a dump. You throw it all on paper and then you start looking at the bigger picture. First thing I do. Then ask yourself, what does your ideal self look like? Case in point, if you're building a business and I found myself doing this, you know, I started, you know, doing the automations and hiring people and doing all kinds of stuff. And then I figured out, you know what? I don't want to be the guy that's in the business 18 hours a day, right? It's not in alignment with the type of life that I want to create. So if we build this monster of a machine that we're not, you know, committed to running, it's not going to pan out well. So the next thing that I ask myself is, you know, what does my ideal self look like? Does this thing that I'm thinking about, does it align with my individual interests and my level of commitment, the level of commitment that I want to put into anything? Does that make sense? What does Joy look like? This is a super simple question, but I think it's the greatest indicator of, you know, of just being in the right path. A lot of times we look for purpose. We look for, you know, the ultimate, you know, change in the world. And we go into this big, big thinking mode, right? When we have the best indicator readily available, if you're enjoying what you're doing, at the end of the day, you enjoyed 90% of your day,

3:08.1

you're winning, right? And it doesn't have to be 90, but you get the drift. What does Joy look like to us? Does it look like, you know, this big company with 100 employees and 200 deals a month? Or does it look like a, you know, steady, coordinated, consistent flow of five deals a month with a small team that allows me to do more stuff

3:24.1

because I have free time, right? It's such a simple concept, but if we count the smiles in our

3:29.6

face at the end of the day, it really, I mean, it tells you whether or not you're on the right

3:34.2

track. We're always looking for signs and invalidation. And I put myself right on that lane.

3:39.3

We're always looking for stuff outside of us,

3:41.7

right, to tell us whether or not, you know, we're on the right track. We have a smile to give us that, you know, type of information. It's huge. I think we overlook the joy portion quite a bit. And it's simple. It's not, you know, utopia. It's not, you know, bliss and eternal happiness. It's just my enjoying the stuff that I'm doing right now.
