So start off by in your class what is the first topic or issue you discuss with your students when you're teaching this class to people?

The first thing we talk about is how very important the conditions

are in winter. In summer you can say it's not the most perfect weather day and it's okay to still go hike

But in the wintertime the conditions are extremely important so we talk to people about checking the weather not

only for where they are but for where they are going hiking because they have to
