Wine Country.

The film tells the story of six longtime friends who take a scenic nap a getaway to relax and reconnect during a 50th birthday celebration.

But when the alcohol flows, tensions from the past boil over, and the women begin questioning their friendships and futures.

Wine Country is Ms. Poller's feature film directorial debut.

Her other directing credits include episodes of the series, Parks and Recreation, and Broad City.

Following a recent screening of the film at the Harmony Gold Theater in Los Angeles, Ms. Polar spoke with director Nisha Ganatra about filming Wine Country.

During their conversation, Ms. Polar discusses the challenge of pacing the character arcs of an ensemble comedy,

her system of keeping track of how drunk each character needed to be in a given scene, and her love of taking away things to make them funnier in the edit.
