I'm Elvis Mitchell.

You know, there's an interesting tradition of Christmas comedy and melancholy,

from planes, trains,

and automobiles to the apartment, both of which are set in Chicago.

During that tradition, a film's set in Chicago, kind of melancholy and funny about Christmas at the same time as the film, Office Christmas Party, and this director is with me.

Guys, introduce yourselves.

I'm Will Speck, and I'm Josh Gordon.

And, you know, I was thinking about that, how so much about Christmas in Chicago are kind of connected.

Certainly in John Hughes movies.

I mean, from Home Alone to certainly playing trans trans and automobiles to the vacation movies.

I mean, clearly that's kind of some kind of shaping influence to you guys,

isn't it? Yeah, it's strange. You know, we connected on a lot of the same movies, and a lot of

those movies are Chicago movies. We love Blues Brothers is one of our favorite movies, and we

love Risky Business, which is like a very seminal movie for both of us, and we love planes trains

and automobile. So we chose to set it in Chicago, I think, for those sort of spiritual markers.

I think it's a beautiful city on film. And I also think it has a certain Midwest kind of not only sort of decency, but also a slight underdog quality to it. So I think for those reasons, it plays well. It's a hard

city to be in in the winter. You know what I mean? So I think it, for all those reasons, I think we

wanted to kind of set it there. Do you like the kind of the small town, big town vibe that

Chicago has has going for it? Yeah. I mean, in the movie, it was, we wanted to make it about a company that was

part of a larger corporation. And so I think we didn't want it to feel like that corporation
