Welcome to The Treatment. I'm Elvis Mitchell. Who would have thought the 1994 film PCU were

led to two interesting actor-directors.

One of them would be John Fabro and the other is sitting across from me, Matt Ross,

who's first film, 28 Hotel Rooms, is a really interesting look at a life of an affair

through glimpses in the hotel room.

And his newest film, which is now at home video in any number of platforms, is Captain Fantastic.

You also know him as an actor, but the directors he's worked with, my gosh, from Lissy Whit Stillman to

George Clooney, to Mary Harron, to John Wu, to Martin Scorsese.

Not a bad career to start off with another actor-director, Hart Barkner.

I think if you learn one thing from Captain Fantastic, it's a non-word.

That's why I keep throwing it up here, hoping you respond.

And you did.

And you took the bait, as somebody your movie might say. But let me ask you what you think you learned from working with, you've worked with a number of actor-directors.

What do you think you got from them?

Well, the first response I would have to the question is the misconception about me, which is a understandable one, is that I'm transitioning from being an actor to a director, where in fact as a kid, I grew up in rural Oregon

and I was making short films from the time I was 12 years old.
