everybody welcome to another episode of purple insider matthew collar here along with will

ruggots of s i on vikings well you're looking like you spent some time in the sun over the

0:16.3

last few days watching minnesota vikings practice actually we do have a little more shade than usual,

0:21.2

but you and I, there's not a whole lot we can do. But you know what that means, Will,

0:25.8

we have gathered a heck lot of information about the Minnesota Vikings. So I'm just going to

0:30.8

start here with a broad question. Then I want to get into a game with you. How are you feeling

0:35.1

about the 2025 Minnesota Vikings after seven practices?

0:40.6

I'm feeling good. I don't know that my expectations have shifted all that much from where I was

0:47.5

when we came in before this last week of practices. But I mean, if anything, my expectation level and excitement around this defense

0:55.8

has only grown. And it was already pretty high just based on knowing the roster on paper

1:01.0

and knowing how good they were last year and year three under Brian Flores. But they look really,

1:07.0

really good. And then the logical question from that is, okay, if they're looking this

1:11.6

good against the Vikings first team offense, and there's a lot of going against the second

1:16.7

team offense as well, and then how they mix and match those units. But how do we feel about

1:22.2

the first team offense? And I'm not worried about it yet. I think that this is just a really,

1:25.8

really good defense. It's a young quarterback who's had some ups and downs. The offensive line is still getting kind of back to full

1:31.9

strength. Justin Jefferson's been out for the last few days. So I think that there's still plenty of

1:38.7

reason to be optimistic about this offense. I think the run game would be a big, big one. Jordan Mason

1:43.3

has looked kind of

1:44.2

bad as advertised. But this defense, I just think, is going to be for as great as they were

1:52.4

last year. I mean, they, DVOA, EPA per play from opponents, takeaway, scoring, all the stats.

1:59.7

Like, they were top five or higher last year. I think that they could be even better this year, which, scoring, all the stats. Like they were top five or higher last year.
