And Jason, we all know the importance of being able to find water sources, obviously.

But we never know we're going to find ourselves in a situation where we may need to find food to eat while we're out there.

Where I know of even a couple of hikers who have seeked out wild food to eat.

How can we do that? Are you able to, you know, I know there has to be a way you have to identify because some of the things out there that, some of the green things that look nice, could hurt us, could harm us.

Oh, absolutely.

Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, you know, it's one of those skills where I think it's valuable to gain a little bit of

knowledge as a naturalist.

So you can identify some of those common plants that surround us.

And there's all kinds of wild foods that surround us all the time in the forest.

But like you're mentioning, there are a few that are poisonous, some are deadly poisonous.

But the vast majority are not poisonous and there's a lot more that are

edible than are poisonous and so we have both plant foods you know and there's other types of foods too

like fish and insects and small game and amphibians and

reptiles and stuff but plants are one of the more accessible wild foods to us because they're not
