Hello and welcome back to Chasing Excellence, a show about chasing, which truly matters.

My name is Patrick Cummings. I'm here all by myself. A quick introduction to the

conversation we have today. It's a short conversation today. One that we, if you've been listening

for a little bit, you know that I love doing this. I love going back through the archives and finding

conversations that Ben and I have had that perhaps we all collectively and individually have forgotten

about. We've done a lot. We've done, I don't know, almost 400 episodes. So I forgive you for

forgetting some of these things that we talk about. But I do like going back through the archives

every now and again, pulling up some conversations that I myself remember as being impactful.

And so that's what we've got this time around. We've got a conversation that Ben and I had

probably about a year ago, maybe a smidge more. It was in the middle of a longer episode.

And this conversation is about how to help our kids deal with adversity. Specifically, how do we

make sure that we don't shield them unnecessarily from challenges from adversity? This is actually

responding to a listener question. So we've got that coming.

Just one thing I wanted to tell you about before we jump into the episode. I, for the last year

or so, maybe a little bit less, but certainly a good chunk of the year, have been working on a
