Today is part two of Why You Shouldn't Listen at the Dinner Table. If you miss last week's episode, then perhaps start there so that part two makes a little more sense.

We'll pick up from where Gabriel left off last time with Mayor Merrington greeting him on his

doorstep. Let's get into it.

Gabriel's sand wagon could not believe that Mayor Merrington was on his front porch.

The former mayor stood there looking confident and bold with the best fitting suit and tidiest haircut Gabriel had ever seen.

It was definitely a look that told the world,

this guy used to be the mayor.

Listen, kid, I've been following your journey since reading about you in the newspaper.

A kid trying to become the mayor?

"'It's never been done before.

"'What you're trying to do, it takes guts,

"'and that's exactly what our city needs right now.

"'I don't know if you were aware, but I used to be the mayor here a long time ago.

"'I know what it takes to get there.

"'So what do you say? "' Should we team up and win this thing? Um, Gabriel. Oh, sorry, uh, I was just examining your haircut, said Gabriel.

Surely there's got to be at least one hair out of place. How do you get it to stay like that?

Oh, that's an old mayor trick of mine. And Gabriel, tricks are really what becoming the mayor is all about.

When I changed my name from Bob McGee to Mayor Merrington, people looked at me differently.

I mean, it's definitely a name that stands out, admitted Gabriel, but I don't think

my parents will let me change my name. Oh, of course, we don't actually have to change it. May I come

inside? asked Mayor Merrington. Mom, can the old guy with a nice hair come in?
