0:15.6	by working our way through the Gospel of Luke. What do all the Thrones of the
0:20.9	great rulers of the world have in common? Whether it's Thrones today or Thrones the Google images of Charlemagne's throne or Napoleon's or Queen Elizabeth or
0:33.8	Genes Khan's throne and you'll see that there are different in a lot of ways.
0:36.9	They're made of different material, they're different shapes and sizes, they all kind
0:41.2	of reflect the culture or the time period that they were
0:44.5	created but the one thing they all have in common and maybe it's the most
0:48.6	important thing is this they're all one cseaters. Kings don't share their thrones. The human heart has a
0:58.4	throne on it. Kind of metaphorically if you think about your heart, there's someone who is going to sit on the
1:04.8	throne of your heart and there's only room for one it only has one seat available
1:15.0	which king do you bow down to? Which king do you listen to?
1:16.0	Which king has your worship?
1:18.0	Which king gets your respect?
1:20.0	Well, that question drives us to Luke chapter 2. We read this at the very opening
1:26.6	verses of that chapter. It says in those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree
1:32.2	that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.
1:36.7	This was the first census that took place while Quarrenius was governor of Syria and everyone went to their own town to register.
1:47.0	Caesar Augustus was so powerful that he sat on his throne in Rome.
1:51.6	He would issue a decree and the world would scatter.
1:56.4	And so he has issued a decree that a census would be taken.
