for the past five years, I've been telling my friends and family

I want to hike the John Muir Trail.

Well, it's put up or shut up time for me.

I will be retiring this January, and we'll finally have the time to take a two to four

a week backpacking trip.

It's time for me to go ahead and start planning for the John Muir Trail.

Last week, I read your book, Switching Gears, and loved it.

Sorry, I took so long to getting around to buying it.

At least you bought it, and more importantly, you took the time to read it.
