| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the Optimal Protein Podcast. I'm Vanessa Spina. |
| 0:04.7 | Hello, my friends. Welcome back to the podcast. I'm your host, Vanessa, and I am so pumped for today's |
| 0:10.1 | episode. We have Dr. Rick Johnson's first interview that he did on the Optimal Protein podcast, |
| 0:16.8 | which came out at the end of summer. After listening to the interview that he did last week, |
| 0:21.5 | it was so mind-blowing, so amazing, which I recapped on Thursday, all the top highlights and |
| 0:26.7 | takeaways. But his paradigm shift of how we are approaching excess weight gain and obesity |
| 0:32.4 | is truly so compelling. I think it just makes so much sense. And when you listen to the two |
| 0:38.9 | episodes together, I think it is just so powerful, all the takeaways. So I'm so excited for |
| 0:44.4 | today's episode. I want you to be able to listen to that first interview with him again, |
| 0:48.9 | without having to go back and find the episode yourself. And we will discuss more of those |
| 0:53.4 | takeaways on Thursday's episode, |
| 0:55.8 | kind of putting the two together. And it really is so compelling, so exciting. And, you know, |
| 1:01.6 | he really had so many actionable takeaways that we talked about on Thursday in order to |
| 1:06.1 | improve and optimize mitochondrial health and just understanding, you know, more of the science. A lot of the |
| 1:12.2 | science that he did himself, a lot of these discoveries he made himself about fructose and uric acid |
| 1:17.7 | and a lot of the topics that we talk about. And the way that fructose impacts the mitochondria's ability |
| 1:23.2 | to make that active energy for us, it's just mind-blowing. So if you miss last week's episode, |
| 1:28.8 | I highly, highly, highly recommend listening to it |
| 1:31.2 | and listening to the recap or just listening to the recap episode |
| 1:34.4 | that I did on Thursday where I summarized, |
| 1:36.7 | you know, his new paradigm shift and all of the big takeaways there |
| 1:40.5 | and it will really blow your mind. |
