compost tumblers. So there's a lot of different ways to compost. I've already

covered verme composting in an

episode last week. Compost tumblers though are a fantastic way to compost on a

small scale especially in an urban environment.

So there's really honestly nothing more beneficial for your garden

than adding good quality compost, improving your soil over the years.

Composting itself is relatively easy, although people run into a lot of different problems with it.

And one way to solve a lot of those problems is to use a compost tumbler.

But what is a compost Tumblr? In its most simple form, a compost

tumbler is a container which can be turned to basically mix the contents that

are within it.

There are a wide variety of tumblers that are actually available on the market,

but they all have a few key features in common.

They are opaque and darkly colored to help build heat inside. They have either one or two

chambers inside, which you place both green and brown compostable materials, and they can be turned in some way to blend and mix those

contents. So the question then becomes why would you use a tumbler over other

types of composting let's say like Fermi composting or simple compost piles. Well a lot of people

turn to compost tumblers because they've read an advertisement that says you can compost in two

weeks or less. They want the speed. And while that can be true in optimal conditions, getting those perfect conditions can be very tricky and it generally takes longer than that.

So then why should you use a compost tumbler?
