I was planning for this episode to be a break from, you know, just all the rottenness in the world.

Let's take a little trip to pop culture land. A few of you had asked

me to talk about secret lives of Mormon wives a while ago. And season four, I believe, just dropped.

Maybe it was last week. And I have, I think I've watched all of the second and third

season. And by watch, I mean, I kind of fast forward through a lot of it and just kind of hop around

because it can be an incredibly boring show. But for the most recent season, I have

I've sort of sped watched about half of it. And I was planning to make this episode about the

kind of intensifying gender dynamics that I've been seeing unfold between the mom talk

influencers who started the show, are starring in the show.

They're now kind of breaking the Mormon mold as their household's breadwinners.

And now that we are a few years into it, we are seeing their husbands, boyfriends, and exes who are kind of drafting off

the women's fame and now trying to make their own thing happen because the women have

mom talk. So they're trying to make dad talk happen and sort of create this kind of rivalry between them as their actual

relationships on and off camera are starting to fray in all different directions.

And I should pause here.

For the uninitiated, secret lives of Mormon wives was born out of a TikTok scandal.

A TikTok scandal and our kind of current cultural obsession with Mormonism, although I wonder if,

for reasons I'm about to get into, I wonder if that might be on its way trend-wise, sort of

fading out just a little bit. So this all
