It's a big day.

The two biggest stories of 2020 in the US, the pandemic and the election are finding some

closure today, although each is really kind of just entering its next phase.

The first Americans are being vaccinated after the FDA approved the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine

last Friday.

If you remember back to the early days of the pandemic, there was a lot of questions about

whether a vaccine could be developed and rolled out within a year.

A record-smashing timeline.

Now we know the answer is yes.

Also today, the Electoral College is meeting to formally elect Joe Biden, the 46th President

of the United States.

By the time you're listening to this, the vote will likely already be in.

Since the election, President Trump and his allies have tried to subvert the results

through unprecedented means, and by the end of today, most, or maybe not all of those

means will have been exhausted.
