Dr. Berg talks about why diabetes is becoming so popular nowadays. In the 1970s the American Diabetes Association recommends 45% of calories (20% protein, 35% fat) then in 1986 it increased to 60% of the total calories. 1994, they are more flexible by allowing more added sugar and sucrose to be a part of the 60% calories. Then the medical association gets their information from the American Diabetes Association Experts where they realized that they couldn't fix diabetes by the 60% carbohydrates so they have to "Manage Diabetes" by balancing food and medications.
