Today's 10-minute walk is helping both of us remain fitness consistent.

Hi, I'm Dave. Let's go for a walk.

One of the decisions that Dave and I had before us when we move to where we live now,

it's in a community in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We are a couple of miles

from the ocean. It is a newer community. It's built on what used to be the site of the Myrtle Beach

Air Force Base. That was decommissioned back in the 90s, turned into a planned

community. And it's a wonderful place to live. We're near the airport, which remains. It's no longer

an Air Force base, but it is an airport. And initially, a lot of people who moved down here were people

who were retiring. That has transitioned over the years and the area has gotten younger.

And while I don't put Ava and myself necessarily in the younger category,

we didn't move down here as part of retirement.

I'm still working full-time, just working remotely. But that was, you know, that was part of retirement. I'm still working full-time, just working remotely.

But that was, you know, that was part of the calculus, you know, where would we like to live

once retirement is here. And so this checked a bunch of the boxes, and it's checked a bunch

of boxes for a bunch of other people as well.

Because at one point, I don't know if it's still the case, but where we live in ORI County, South Carolina,

it was the fastest growing county in the country, people moving down here.

You have a little bit of the backstory.

One of the decisions that Ava and I had to make was do we get a golf cart or not? A lot of people in our community have golf carts.

Ava's dad and Ava's stepmom.

They live about a half mile from where we live. They have a golf cart and

when we come down and visit them before we move down here, we'd often go places in the golf cart.
