Summary

New Discourses Bullets, Ep. 136 When it comes to economic organization (not necessarily political organization), we might be tempted to ask why it is that Fascist economies don't work. It seems like they might, after all, once you understand that they still enable what might be called a "deferred free enterprise" system, allowing for the profit motive after the government gets its own. In this episode of New Discourses Bullets, host James Lindsay (featuring a post by Logan Lancing) dives into the problem with Fascist (Stakeholder) economic models on a variety of levels, using both economic theory and historical and contemporary examples to make his point. Join him to understand why we should not readily embrace such a model for ourselves. Latest from New Discourses Press! Today I want to talk about something my friend Logan Lansing, who wrote Quering of the American

0:39.0

Child with me, what he said on X and talk about why the fascist system doesn't work as an

0:46.7

economic model.

0:47.6

I'm not going to talk about the fascist system in terms of other aspects, like the idea of the

0:51.9

decisionist heroic leader being a key part or the nationalist

0:58.3

identity being a key part. I'm going to leave those parts out. I'm going to talk just about the

1:01.9

economic system, which is that the government basically controls first fruits of the corporate

1:09.4

world and dictates first fruits of the corporate world and why that's

1:13.7

not going to work. So I want to start this is why the fascist government, which by the way,

1:19.0

this is kind of a question, right? Would we look around the world, we look at what's happening in

1:22.9

China, which runs a fascist government or fascist economic system controlled by a communist state for

1:29.3

communist purposes, read their own literature, they're still on board with that. But if you look

1:34.4

around, you know, the question, there's a real question being raised in the world today. Does

1:37.8

fascism actually work better than free market or laissez-faire capitalist economics? And the answer is no. And so let me read to you first

1:48.5

what Logan Lansing said. Like I said, he's the author of Queering of the American Child with me.

1:53.3

I strongly recommend you go buy that book and read it, share it with anybody you know who's dealing

with the sexualization of our children in schools or media.
