Today's talk comes from pastor Ben Stewart.

Well, I remember coming into my freshman year of college.

I had a deep discouragement because I had asked God to show me

where I was supposed to go to college and he never did.

And I was very disappointed by that, and so I reluctantly selected Texas A&M.

And I remember as I showed up there unenthusiastically, I attended orientation where I got fever in chills and I would lay in bed at night

just jackhammering and sweating going man I am not looking forward to my college

years and then when I applied to live in that dorm that semester, I was turned down, rejected, even

though it was required to live in a dorm, they said, but not you son.

So I had to go find housing elsewhere among some

people who were not bad guys but I did not feel necessarily deeply connected to and so I entered into freshman year

with no sense of God's leading and no friends. But at least I had a girlfriend from

high school. That'll make it.

Not so fast, Ben.

That one ended abruptly within a month.

And I remember as I was just entering into adulthood.

I would take a walk at this park across the street

from where I was living in the attic

of a beat-up old house.

And I started to try to pray,

and my prayers all sounded something like,
