0:23.1	The biggest of course being one Ron Arthas, the NBA player, changed his name to Meta World

0:28.9	I don't know, maybe that was too obscure of a reference for this audience, but I digress.
0:33.4	Let's get into the metaverse.
0:35.4	What does it mean?
0:36.4	What does it mean for you and me?
0:38.3	Is this a totally new dystopian future that we are heading towards?
0:42.5	What does it mean?
0:43.8	First of all, there is a distinction between the Metaverse and Meta.
0:48.7	Meta is the name that Facebook has changed its company name to.
0:53.0	So they're no longer Facebook the company, they're now going to be Meta, the company.
0:57.9	The Facebook app and platform is still as of now going to be known as Facebook and
1:01.9	Instagram is still going to be known as Instagram.
1:04.8	WhatsApp and Messenger are still going to be known as WhatsApp and Messenger.
1:09.1	Really, what this name change boils down to is a public declaration of what Facebook
1:16.0	now meta thinks the future of social media is going to look like.
1:20.8	Some people have speculated that this name change came on the heels of some bad publicity
