Hello my friends. Today's five minute Monday is about a cycle that I am in love with

It is called the confidence competence loop and it's something that I learned as a life coach pretty early on

although I believe I had a really good intuitive sense of this when I was young I think we all do when we're young.

Before we start to get really hard on ourselves and think we need to have everything figured out and be completely perfect.

It's something new right out of the gate. In fact it never fails to surprise me how when

I'm working with anybody who's doing something new for the first time in any era of their

life how much they beat themselves up

when they're not an A-plus gold star 10 out of 10 A-plus perfect on their first attempt.

Who gave us that idea because it is absolutely bonkers?

And here's a concept that I'm going to be teaching you today instead,

Often we think, well, and I'll be really good at something,

then I'll be confident.

And then we think, oh well, you know, where does it begin exactly?

Because we have to be pretty crappy at something before we can be decent and then decent in something before we can be great and then great at something until we can be excellent.

Right? So the competence has to begin by being pretty crappy.
