You know, another example of this would be over in 1st Samuel, Chapter 30,

where David had been anointed to be the king for over 13 years.

And he had been running from his father-in-law, to be the king for over 13 years.

And he had been running from his father-in-law,

Saul.

A lot of bad things had happened to him.

And finally, he came back home to his town of Amalek,

or excuse me, that's not right. Where was that? Ziklag. The town of Ziklag and the Amalekites had invaded it and they had burnt all of their homes. They had taken all of their precious things, their wives, their

children, and they left. And when David and his man got back, the entire city was

totally destroyed. And the people, it says that they wept until they had no more power to

weep. Man it was just 13 years of bad stuff ever since he had been

anointed by God and his own man spoke of stoning him to death.

You know, this would have been a great opportunity for him to just quit.

I mean, he was facing more adversity than any person in here has ever faced.

This was bad and yet it says David encouraged himself in the Lord his God and the way he did it he called for the

Eifod which was the way that you inquired of God. He called for the word of God and he began to encourage himself in the Lord

his God. You know what he was doing? He was dealing with this conscience. It
