Hello and welcome to the Byron New York Show, the No-Chit-Chit podcast.

We'd like to get right into it and what we're going to get into today is.

It's a story that arose from the Utah Senate debate, not sure if you watched it,

but kind of an interesting story that arose maybe a little tangentially.

And it's a question. The question is, who is more in lockstep?

Republicans with Donald Trump or Democrats with Joe Biden?

So there was this extraordinary debate for the Utah Senate seat.

It was Monday night in Oram, Utah, and it was between Senator Mike Lee, who is a Republican

challenger, and excuse me, the Republican incumbent, and Evan McMullen, who's the challenger.

It was extraordinary in part because McMullen, you probably know, is running as an independent.

He says that if he's elected, he will not caucus with either Democrats or Republicans.

And one interesting thing was that McMullen agreed with Mike Lee in a bunch of policy areas,

like federal spending and regulatory overreach. And at one point said, I think our difference is

an approach. So that's McMullen talking. So you think, well, maybe it's just stylistic.

You know, I'll be nicer than you are or I'll be more focused than you are. I don't know.

Instead, instead of that, Evan McMullen just slashed Mike Lee repeatedly over former

President Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election results. So McMullen accused Mike Lee

of urging the Trump White House, quote, to find fake electors to overturn the will of the people.
