WHO'S MORE IN LOCKSTEP — REPUBLICANS WITH TRUMP, OR DEMOCRATS WITH BIDEN? There was an extraordinary Senate debate Monday night in Orem, Utah, between Sen. Mike Lee and challenger Evan McMullin. It was extraordinary in part because McMullin, who is running as an independent and says that, if elected, he will not caucus with either Democrats or Republicans, agreed with Lee in many policy areas, such as federal spending and regulatory overreach. "I think our difference is in approach," McMullin said at one point.

It's a story that arose from the Utah Senate debate, not sure if you watched it,

but kind of an interesting story that arose maybe a little tangentially.

And it's a question. The question is, who is more in lockstep?

Republicans with Donald Trump or Democrats with Joe Biden?

So there was this extraordinary debate for the Utah Senate seat.

It was Monday night in Oram, Utah, and it was between Senator Mike Lee, who is a Republican

challenger, and excuse me, the Republican incumbent, and Evan McMullen, who's the challenger.

It was extraordinary in part because McMullen, you probably know, is running as an independent.

He says that if he's elected, he will not caucus with either Democrats or Republicans.

And one interesting thing was that McMullen agreed with Mike Lee in a bunch of policy areas,

Instead, instead of that, Evan McMullen just slashed Mike Lee repeatedly over former

President Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election results. So McMullen accused Mike Lee

of urging the Trump White House, quote, to find fake electors to overturn the will of the people.
