We like to get right into it and what we're going to get into today is what you might call

the Democrats oil folly. President Biden's oil folly. This is not going to be a really long story.

It's actually a pretty short story, but it's important, thought you wanted to know it,

you need to know it. So we'll go ahead. On Wednesday morning, President Biden announced his plan

to release even more oil, 15 million barrels, from the strategic petroleum reserve. This is the last

portion of the 180 million barrels that he authorized for release in March. So that 165

million have been released so far. This 15 is the last bunch of that 180 million barrels that

he authorized for release. Now that was the biggest withdrawal ever from the strategic petroleum

reserve and you'll remember the strategic petroleum reserve. Maybe I should just start saying SPR.

SPR was created in 1975 after the oil embargo to deal with national emergencies like

on oil embargo or war or something. It's for the United States to have a strategic petroleum reserve.

Now in the case of national emergency, now in this case for President Biden, the national

emergency is upcoming midterm elections in which the Democratic Party is likely to lose seats

in Congress. Boy, the podcast I did the other day about the red wave back on. Boy, there's just

been a whole bunch of analyses kind of like that in the past couple of days. There really seems

to have been a real temperature change recently. But anyway, the national emergency that makes
