John and I have a topic that I thought was going to be really original, and then it turned out,

coincidentally, that the Hall of Fame

announcements were this week. And ESPN did a piece on this as well. But I did not read that piece.

I don't think John did either. So we're going to talk about who we think are the current

Hall of Famers in the NBA, who has a chance, who doesn't, who's in the Hall of

Very Good, a lot of this stuff to really go through.

I did this probably, I think like four or five years ago at that time, but obviously

much has changed since then.

So first off here, John, what is a Hall of Famer to you?

That is a great question.

I mean, so there are a couple of standards, I think, was this guy one of the best players

in the league at any point in his career, right?

Was this guy good enough to be the best player and a good team?

And being clear, we are saying that this is our standards not necessarily what these standards

have been this is what i feel the standard ought to be yeah the standard has turned out to be is

something extremely inconsistent but we'll get into that in a minute um what you know was he was he

among the best players in the league at his position was you know, was he capable of being the best player

on a decent to good team? Was he somebody you wanted on your team? Right. I think in a couple

cases you'd question that, right? How long was his prime? Right? Was it just one year? Was

there multiple years of excellence? And then, you know, you can look to some other things as indicators. You know, when you talk about obviously things like all-star, all-league awards. But then you also kind of go through the record and look at it on your own because there are some guys who were overrated or underrated for whatever reason and maybe didn't get as many of those accolades
