Well, on our last episode, we talked about seasons of turbulence and difficulty in marriage.

And what about tough times that either don't seem to end or you feel like I got nothing left?

I'm John Fuller, joined by Aaron and Greg Smalley.

And Aaron, you're a counselor, and you see so many couples at so many different kind of stages and seasons.

But I'm sure that somewhere along the way, because of life's circumstances, you've run into a couple

and they're in your office because we're on empty. We're running on empty and it's just awful.

And there's so many different things that can take one or both,

individuals within the couple to that place of just going,

I'm exhausted.

I have nothing.

I think of a couple who she was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer

and very unexpectedly young.

And I was so blown away watching her husband step in and walk

that journey with her. I mean, the reality was they didn't know she had days or months left to

live. And the really cool thing, every time I talked with them, they would say, we feel more connected

than we've ever felt in this very difficult, difficult season when she had nothing to give.

But he leaned in and walked that with her beautifully.

And it just shows that when one is depleted, wow, when, you know, two are better than one.

When one is down, the other can step in.

But it means that that individual who is stepping into that role of giving more needs to have
