Today's 10-minute walk happens the morning after some pretty significant storms blew through

our community here in Myrtle Beach.

And so normally I have dry pavement this morning.

I'm not going to walk through the water, but there are quite a few standing puddles on the sidewalk where I'm walking.

The other night, Ava and I were out for our walk.

It's part of our regular habit when we're in town to walk.

Sometimes it's a 30-minute walk, sometimes a little bit longer, sometimes a little bit shorter.

Last night's walk was actually a little bit shorter because we started heading for town,

and we were going to go a little bit further and we turned around and saw

these massive storm clouds behind us and it was like oh we didn't know that was coming and decided

to turn around and head back and at one point we're getting close to home at one one point, the wind's blowing, and we can start to feel the first hint of rain, and it's dark.

And Ava said, how about we run the rest of the way?

So it's just for her, not so much, but for me, an awkward run back back to the house and we beat the rain and the heavens opened up.

And so there are still water puddling up on the pavement as I walked this morning.

But as I was actually getting ready to say, recently we were out for our walk.

It was not raining.

And we were walking through town and we passed a barbershop, a barbershop where I get my hair cut.

And in that moment, I had this horrible feeling, this, oh my gosh, I can't believe that just happened.
