Today's 10-minute walk is helping both of us remain fitness consistent.

Hi, I'm Dave. Let's go for a walk.

Can you hear the rain?

It's a light rain at the moment, but it's actually supposed to increase in intensity, probably even as I'm walking.

I don't know what it is about the rain.

There's something that I find soothing, assuming that the temperature isn't super cold and the wind isn't blowing.

And right now the wind is calm, so I'm dressed appropriately, and it's comfortable.

But there's something about the rain that I find very calming.

And I tend, when I do walk in the rain, I tend to walk at a slower pace without even

My pace just slows down, and I'm reminded that while the name of this podcast is walking as fitness,

and we're all about building a fitness habit, that walking isn't just exercise.

This walk even at a slower pace has health benefits, but this walk is more

than just a walk for exercise. Oftentimes when I'm not focused on other things,

It's one of the benefits, in fact, I think it's one of the greatest benefits of walking.
