Today's 10-minute walk is helping both of us remain fitness consistent.

Hi, I'm Dave. Let's go for a walk. I'm going to talk about the book Atomic Habits in a moment,

but I want to pause and recognize the importance of this day on the calendar. Now, it may not be important for you,

but it's super important for me and my wife, Ava, because it was on January 7th that she and I met

for the first time. This was January 7th, 1983. So 42 years ago today, we met, it was about 1 o'clock in the afternoon.

I was working at a radio station in Baltimore. My future wife lived in Glenburn, Maryland,

and the receptionist of the radio station where I worked was a neighbor of Avis, that's my wife's name.

She told Ava that there's a guy that I work with at the radio station that you have to meet.

And she even went further than that. She she told Ava this is the guy you're

going to marry she told me hey there's a girl that I live near that I think you

would enjoy meeting she said she's beautiful she's smart like okay that. And then she said, now I'm not talking about marriage or anything.

So she was telling me a different story than she was telling Eva.

Just the way she was talking about her.

I thought, oh, yes, you are.

And that was actually a couple of months before Ava and I met.

So Joanne was the receptionist name.

She set up the meeting for January 7th at the radio station.

Ava was going to come into the radio station, do kind of like a tour of the radio station,

and we were going to meet.

And I knew that Ava was coming in.
