Today's 10-minute walk is helping both of us remain fitness consistent.

And I don't remember the exact words, but the person was lamenting how walking makes them feel shame.

And I'm not sure why that is I can make some assumptions I

think there are three reasons why someone would feel shame when it comes to

walking as a fitness activity I don't think this is simply the idea of I'm going to walk through the grocery store

and I feel shame as I'm walking.

I think it was more around the idea of pursuing fitness and using walking

and the idea of taking a walk for fitness, for exercise, thinking about that,

brought these feelings of shame.

And so here are three reasons why I think that could be.

Number one, it was a reminder, it's a reminder of fitness failures.

Previous attempts to pursue fitness that didn't go well, that ended.

And so there's a feeling of shame over those failures. I've tried this.

I've tried to be consistent and I just can't stick with it.

And I feel shame as a result of that.

Number two, there might be some health or weight issues that may have been brought about by

some lifestyle choices and some lifestyle decisions.

And so now turning that around or thinking about turning that around or maybe simply thinking about the situation

that they are in and how perhaps if they had walked more, this wouldn't be the circumstances
