I've been thinking a lot recently about the beauty of what I refer to as nothing days.

And by nothing days I don't mean you know a blank calendar no meetings no

nothing on the schedule it's bigger than that it's in fact the majority of our

days when you think about it.

Life is largely routine.

I think about like a Monday to Friday routine or a kids routine or a work routine or a workout routine. This is what fills the majority of our days, doesn't

it? I mean yes there'll be days when you find out really great news or you celebrate a big win or you go on vacation or something exciting and out of the ordinary happens that we're looking forward to.

But if I were to ask you what were you doing Tuesday three weeks ago, you probably wouldn't

remember because it was what I'm referring to now as something called just a nothing day.

So because our nothing days fill up the majority of our time,

it's really easy to give them nothing type of value. Right, it's really simple to go, ah, nothing really exceptional is happening, I'm just

making it through the day, making it through the week,

trying to wait it out until that cool thing happens a month from now that's got the circle on my calendar

because that's when something interesting is going on. And between now and then it's kind of just space.

I was reacquainted recently with the awesome play, Our Town. I'm not sure for you know this play. It's incredible

written by Thornton Wilder years ago, but as I was reacquainting myself with this play, I was so touched by the ending monologue.

And for summary sake, I'll let you know that what happens at the very end is that there is a woman who dies and she is able to go back to her life for just one day and she chooses her 12th birthday.
