He is the creator of Story Grid, the author of the book Story Grid, and an editor with over 25 years experience.

In this episode, I bring a question to Sean that I think a lot of writers deal with.

A friend of mine reached out to me, he's been working on his book a while,

and he was wondering when to know that the book is done.

Is there a certain story grid tool, or is there a time that you know?

And just all of those things of, you know, he's been working on this a while. When is it time to

release the book? So I bring this question to Sean and he had some really good insight on this.

So I think you'll really enjoy this episode. So let's jump in and get started.

So Sean, I was talking with a friend of mine the other day and it just reminded me how odd my kind of coming into writing

fiction has been where, you know, I had dabbled for years without taking it seriously at all.

And then when I decided to take it seriously is when you and I started this podcast.

And so most of my learning how to write fiction and failing and flailing has been alongside you. or I guess you've been alongside me as I've

wandered around. And so it's interesting because I've never really felt alone in it, which is weird,

right? Like that's an anomaly if you look out into the world of writers, you know, trying to

learn how to write fiction and all the obligatory, so thankful for that and gratitude and all of

that. But I was talking to a friend of mine the other day, and he's been working on this book for a while,

and he's like, he's like, I don't know if it's, I don't know if it's ready yet. And I said, okay, I said, well, you know, so I started asking them all kind of questions. And this is where I feel like people think that I know what I'm talking about now because we're doing this. And so I just was kind of trying to channel my inner Sean and talk to him about, well, what are you trying to do?

And, you know, where are you at with the book? What have you, you know, what have you gotten to?
