Joining me shortly is Sean Coyne. He is a creator of Story Grid, the author of the book Story Grid, and an editor with over 25 years experience.

So this is kind of a different episode.

Sean and I were talking before we were recording and he was telling me a little bit

about something that was going on with a project he was working on.

And we decided it was something worth sharing on the podcast because it gives a little

insight into how publishing can work, but it also gives a little insight into how Sean approaches

writing projects, what can go wrong with them, what can go right with them. And then he even

shares a little bit about reaching his own kind of

dark night of the soul on a project which I think is important you know myself

included and probably you a lot of us think that don't think of Sean as like a

mortal person because he knows so much about story but nobody gets away with

digging into a project and not having something go wrong

and facing down whether or not you're going to actually push through and finish a project.

So, Sean, we were just starting this conversation and we decided to just hit the record

button and start recording it because we thought it would be something maybe our listeners

would be interested in because you're caught up in this kind of publishing thing that I think

will show a lot of what goes on behind the scenes.
