Welcome to The Lost Debate Show for Politically Ecclectics. I'm Ravi Gupta. And in a second, I speak to

Bridget Reed, who is a feature writer at New York Magazine, where she reports on housing inequality,

the real estate industry for curb. She previously worked for The Cut and was a culture writer at

Vogue. She has a book called Little Bosses Everywhere, How the Pyramid Scheme Shaped America. And she has this whole

book about multi-level marketing schemes, and it is going to blow you away. We get into it. Talk about

why you need to know about this industry, why you may even be interacting with it and don't even

realize it. So we'll get there in a second. But before that, a couple things in my life.

Number one, thank you for everybody who voted for us for the Webby Award.

We were nominated three times this year and won an award for killing justice,

our show about an alleged political murder in India, and I got a chance to attend that

award ceremony last night, and it was really wonderful.

And, you know, we're a little company,

but we always punch above our weight in these types of things. And it's because of you as a

loyal audience. We're not massive, but we have a group of nerdy eclectics like you who really

care about the work that we do. And so I really appreciate all the support that you give to us.

Two is I'm actually recording here from my high school that I graduated from more Catholic high school.

And I got a chance to speak to some students who are graduating in two weeks. And I gave him a little pep talk this morning.

And I, every time I interact with students, I'm left with two thoughts.

One is I'm absolutely terrified for them. I know those of your parents feel this way.

The world that they are entering is so much different than the world that we come from.
