I recently saw an article with 10 things that used to be free and aren't anymore.

0:10.7

So we're going to go through that list and rate them on the most annoying to not.

0:14.1

And let me know your thoughts in the comments as we go.

So I'm going to rate these, 1 to 10, 10 being the most annoying and frustrating, and one being somewhat understandable. First up is air. That's right. You used to not have to pay to put air in your tires. You go to the gas station, they'd have it there, and you just go. And now it's like a coin machine. You got to have some stuff or even a couple

0:38.1

of bucks to fix your tire pressure where before air was free. Not anymore. It's kind of funny because

0:44.9

you're paying for air, but also like it's not that big of a deal. So I'm going to be like a three

0:49.6

on my annoyance scale. Number two, the news. Yes, I grew up with, you know, the newspapers and all

0:56.6

of that. You could either watch the nightly news or the newspapers, but now, thanks to the

1:00.7

internet, you could get news anytime, anywhere. And so for a good bit of time, the news was just

1:06.4

free on the internet. And now, if you go to certain news outlets like the New York Times and the Washington

1:11.3

Post, all of that, there's usually a paywall. You can only read so far down and then it stops and

1:17.0

says you have to have a subscription. And so they charge you a subscription fee, which makes sense because

1:22.4

the actual, like, I know they need to make money because they used to make money on newspapers.

1:26.4

And now that's like a

1:27.6

thing that is in the past. I understand it, but also it's kind of annoying where you're like, okay, I want to read this article, and now I've got to pay for my news. My annoyance scale, it's pretty high, y'all. I'm going to go like seven. I don't know. I mean, I know you can get a lot of things for free, but if there is a great article out there that we need to know about

1:26.2

in the world, like, I don't want to pay for it. So I'm going to say that. Number three,

1:48.4

airline extras. This is tough. So some flights, they may be cheaper, but so many of the amenities

1:55.0

and other things are not included in the price. So checked bags, even some charge for carry-ons, and flight snacks

2:02.1

or beverages, and flight entertainment, the list goes on. And so it is kind of frustrating. And I'm

2:09.7

going to put this at a frustrating number. I am going to say nine. I don't know why. This

2:14.9

bothers me so much. Like, you pay for a ticket, and there is, like,
