Summary

Doubting your goals doesn’t mean you’re failing—it usually means you’re growing. In this episode, I break down why doubt shows up when you’re on a meaningful path, and why the assumption that things should feel easier is often what keeps people stuck. From a spiritual perspective, goals aren’t meant to unfold in a straight line. The friction, setbacks, and uncertainty are not detours—they’re the training ground. What do you do if you have doubts about your goals?

That's what we're going to talk about in today's spiritual perspective episode.

I'm going to give you one tactic that you can use today that's going to help you make more aligned decisions a lot faster.

We'll also unpack an extremely common tendency that's keeping you and everyone you know from creating the life that you ultimately

desire. And at the end, I'm going to share with you the most powerful question that you can ask

0:26.8

yourself whenever you're having doubts that's going to help you unlock your full potential.

Let's get into it. When it comes to the idea of goal setting in general, usually our approach is more or less linear,

0:40.4

which means we have an outcome in mind.

up for the Navy SEAL Hell Week experience unless, of course, we're applying to become

0:51.5

1:12.2

our ground-level assessment of whether or not we're going in the right direction is if there

1:17.1

is a greater degree of comfort than of friction. If there's a lot of friction, that's usually

1:23.4

where the doubts come in. If there's a lot of comfort, then we usually think, oh, I'm on the right

1:29.0

path. So there's an association with comfort equating to rightness or something is meant to be.

1:36.9

Now, again, this is the ground level perspective. When the path starts to appear to deviate

1:42.5

from the outcome that we have in mind, that's where the doubts

1:46.4

start to come into play. Reminds me of this video game that I played as a kid called Pitfall,

1:52.0

which is sort of like this Indiana Jones type of topography where you'd have to jump over pits
