There are certain stories that don't just make the headlines, but they cause us to question our

understanding of reality. The recently released Epstein files are one of those lightning rod stories,

which involves and wealthy and powerful men and islands and spiritual and wellness gurus and

scientists and what appears to be a massive cover-up. Now, I know that tempers are

high and I know that people just want someone to be held accountable. And I don't often use

this channel to get into scandals in the media. But when something of this magnitude hits the public

awareness, I also see it as a useful opportunity

to stress test the spiritual principles that we oftentimes talk about on this channel, just to see

if they actually hold up in these kind of darker situations. Or do they quietly fall apart

under the scrutiny of real-world issues. Because as spiritual people,

we like to claim things like, oh, we should be non-judgmental, compassionate, and try to see

the best in other people, and we need to take responsibility for our experience. And look,

that sounds great. But what happens when you're dealing with the most powerful and influential leaders from all walks of life who all appear to be either connected directly or indirectly to this sex trafficking ring that was happening essentially in plain sight?

How do the spiritual principles apply in this case?

Or do they only work in ashrums and on retreats and in other

non-threatening environments? And here's something else I want to unpack, not just around Epstein,

but in society at large. Which are the moments when we're actually standing on principle

versus when we're just reacting from the tribe mind? Because there's a lot of virtue signaling also happening out here.

And I want to give you a very simple way to tell the difference if your outrage is selective

versus if it's legitimately coming from compassion that's informed by your spiritual work.

Because if you miss that difference, you're going to make yourself vulnerable

to being emotionally hijacked by every headline that comes along, thinking that the spiritual
